#### Lacy is a gorgeous 7 year old gray and white Lhasa Apso. She weighs 15 pounds. Lacy has meningitis and very well may need to be on medication for the rest of her life. She is responding well to the medication and has a good prognosis. Lacy has spent some time in a wonderful foster home and has learned so much. When her foster parents would call her, she would peek around the corner and look. She has the cutest head tilt. A funny thing is that she cocks her head at kind people on the TV but growls and barks at the "bad guys!" She would check in with her fosters for approval for barking and growling. She is a hoot. She also enjoyed the cats in her foster home and loved to boop noses with the tabby cat.Lacy responds so well to routines. She does need a more confident sibling as well as a fenced yard for them to play. She has come so far since being in a home. She needs a quiet, predictable environment with routines that show her she is safe and can do new things. She needs quiet and gentle adopters and no children under 16. If you have another calm dog and a securely fenced yard with a 4 foot fenced yard, we hope you will apply to meet Lacy at NMDR.org. - - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
