Meet Lucky, a 6.5-year-old Malamute German Shepherd Mix dog. Lucky and his 6 siblings arrived at our shelter after being seized by the Sheriff's department earlier this month. These guys have not had much exposure, so they are timid at first, but we know with the right home they are going to make someone excellent pets! At this time, we are in search of a home for Lucky where he can be an only dog as he seems much more relaxed and happy that way. These dogs were living outside so we cannot guarantee they would be 100% potty trained at this time, however when they are taken out to go potty regularly, they do keep their kennels clean. Lucky will need more work learning to walk on a leash and someone with patience to reassure him.We always recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all!If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org and a staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known.
