Meet Marge: Marge is about a 5.5 year old (as of September 2023) dachshund/terrier mix (best guess) that weighs around 10 pounds. Marge and her companion Homer were apprehended by the Olive Branch animal control last winter. They were living under an abandoned house in northern Mississippi and both were as wild and nasty as two little dogs can be and gave the Animal Control Officers of Olive Branch, MS a real run for their money during their capture and trip to the shelter. There, they were so fractious, the staff wouldn't put them up for adoption to the general public. They would only release to a rescue. A day after their release to the Charlie's Crusaders team, they were crawling in our laps asking to be petted. This is actually a common occurrence in the world of dog rescue. Living on the street or in a shelter can make them mean and vicious, but with surprisingly little time and patience their gentle side can return and some really good dogs have been obtained this way. We suspect that Marge is the Mom of Homer; the resemblance is certainly there. The two were bonded in the wild and remain partial to each other in foster care. We are trying to get them adopted together. They're both very attentive and affectionate and definately show that two are better than one when it comes to dogs. Marge loves belly rubs and Homer will jump up against you for a long doggie hug. Please consider these two in your hunt for a new family member. Marge will need a home with a fenced in yard. Marge is up to date on her shots and spayed.
