It's impossible not to love Midge! Midge is the sweetest girl who is ready for her happy ever after. She is such a lovebug that loves nothing more than getting attention (and yummy treats!). She can be a little shy at first, but it doesn't take long before she is your BFF and then she wants all the love. Midge is estimated to be around 4 months old and currently weighs about 17lbs. She is going to be a big girl and will weigh around 60lbs when fully grown. Midge came to us after she was found dumped in Davis with her 9 brothers and sisters. We were only able to take her and her sister, Barbie, but we helped the woman caring for the puppies get all 10 puppies spayed/neutered and get their first set of vaccines. Midge has been doing great in her foster home, but has missed out on a lot of socialization and is still learning about the worth. Her new family should be prepared to help her have lots of positive experiences with new things. Midge is your typical puppy who plays hard and sleeps hard. Her favorite activities include wrestling with her sister and finding all the squeaky toys in her foster home. She is always down for some playtime, but also loves cuddles and giving kisses. She hasn't had any training, so her new family should be ready to dedicate lots of time to helping her learn her basic manners and help her grow up to be the best girl she can be. Midge loves other dogs, and we think she would love another playful large dog in her new home so she always has a buddy to play with. We haven't seen her around cats, but she may do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Due to her puppy antics, Midge would do best with kids 10 years and older. Midge has been doing well with her housetraining, but her new family will need to expect accidents while she is learning. She has done well being crated when her foster mom isn't home and overnight. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
