Misty recently spent time in foster care and this is what her foster caregiver had to say about her: Misty is very playful and loves running around, chasing lizards or dogs or nothing, just running. She's ready to cool off after 30 minutes or so with the heat. She likes to be where the action is, and if there's no action, she can create some, playing with toys or other dogs or people. She has used her mouth to take my hand when she wants attention, but she's very soft with her mouth (of course, this mouthing is strongly discouraged). She had a play date with a one year old Irish Setter, and they were a good match for running & chasing. An older Irish Setter was in the backyard too, and she corrected Misty when Misty got too much in her space, and Misty backed off. She is still learning boundaries with other dogs, but we can see progress. She's high energy for a short time, then it's time to relax. Misty is friendly towards little dogs, but a little too rambunctious at first. She's been around cats with supervision only. If they run, she'll chase them. Squirrels are probably her favorite animal to chase. She barks infrequently and doesn't usually bark at other dogs through the fence. Misty is calm in her crate, and although she likes to rearrange her bedding, she hasn't destroyed anything. She does like to carry around a shoe and put it in her bed. I have felt lucky that she hasn't chewed on anything like that, because she loves chewing. She loves chewing on the squeaky toys and bones and floppy toys. If she isn't given something to chew on, she'll probably find something on her own. Misty is easy to walk on the leash, and it's definitely a smell walk with her. She spends a lot of time following smells. If we're walking with another dog, she pulls to get in front at first, but usually settles down after a couple of blocks. When meeting new people, she often stands on her back legs, and sometimes jumps (always discouraged by me, but maybe not by the other person). Misty rides well in the car and is easy to bathe. She doesn't want a bath, but after it's started she's ok. Misty sleeps on my bed at night, and has not chewed on the bedding at all.
