Oakley came into the shelter with a horrible condition of mange and he is also sight impaired. He went into foster care and this is what his foster mom says about him "Oakley is a very sweet boy. He loves to cuddle, especially with humans and my other dogs. He is blind so if he gets startled he can be a little temperamental. He is very curious about my cats but when he doesn't know they are next to him it startles him. He's only shown food aggression once so when he learns food will always be available, he doesn't guard it. He is learning how to use stairs as well as potty training. He willingly gets in his kennel. The last photo was him when he first arrived at the shelter. He is now available for adoption and looking for that special home. He is a great dog but needs a home without any cats or small animals as they startle him and he doesn't know how to react due to his blindness. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-XXXX and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. Ask about adoption transportation assistance if you do not live in the local area. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, a bordetella vaccination and are dewormed.
