Hi! My name is Oliver. The first 5 months of my life have been tough, but I am a survivor. I obviously was in a confrontation early on, because the tip of my one ear is missing. Then one night, when I was about 3 months old, a good Samaritan found me wandering the streets of Frederick and took me to the animal emergency room where they determined that I probably was hit by a car. The result was that the femur on my left leg was damaged. I have had the leg repaired. I can walk, run, romp with my foster brothers, swim - I have a swim vest - and I can do steps and I am starting to push off my back leg and jump. My foster Mom has taught me sit, down, and of course NO - not my favorite word. We are currently working on walking on a leash on the left side using the word PLACE. I know LET'S GO means we are moving forward. I am very food motivated, so when Mom has the treat bag, I know to pay attention.I am crate trained and I am getting good at telling my foster Mom when I need to go out. I am not perfect yet, but I am close to being house trained. I like car rides and going to the park is a favorite activity. I am still learning about life. I found a cricket the other day and they are fascinating.My foster parents have a fenced in backyard which is great. I enjoy being outside, exploring, playing with my foster brothers, and relaxing in the sun. I am looking for a family with no small children. Remember, I am still a puppy and I do well with children 8 and older. A family with a fenced in yard would be great, I really like being outside. My new family also needs to be able to continue to exercise me everyday and keep my weight down so my altered back leg works well.
