Onyx is a 7yo 15lb Shih Tzu. He’s dog and older kid friendly. He’s housebroken when kept on a schedule and crate trained. He enjoys a fenced in yard along with going for walks. He loves rope toys and being with his people. He’s cuddly, likes to follow his person around and likes to get all the attention. He has some trust issues and did have a prior minor bite incident when people try to take his food away from him, so will need someone who has patience to help work on the issue and not take food from him. This is all part of his training per MUST haves below. Onyx MUST have a home with a young playful dog along with active people who are on board to show him leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working with him on his training. Peter Wolf of Your Happy Dog who volunteers his time with Tiny Paws will be at the meet with Onyx and all humans and animals in the house to help with the transition. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Onyx had been adopted by a wonderful family who understood his needs and were able to give him what he needed, but sadly they had to return him due to a living situation and nothing he did.
