Quiet, single dog home needed for sweet lab/pit mix. Penny is about 4 years old. She was a foster fail two years ago after she had a litter of puppies. She was very shy, reserved, and didn’t meet strangers well so we opted to adopt her instead of letting her sit in the shelter. Over the last two years, Penny has come out of her shell and warms up to strangers much more quickly. Unfortunately, she has repeatedly shown us that she prefers to be the only dog in the home. I believe this is due to her past (abandoned with multiple dogs in a home to fend for themselves). She loves to cuddle, sun bath, and sleep most of the day. Penny is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and heart worm negative. She does suffer from allergies that usually manifest as itchiness and ear infections. We have found that a diet without chicken and salmon oil supplement helps alleviate these problems. She also takes a Zyrtec everyday. Penny will make the perfect companion for someone looking for a single dog household.Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas.
