The name Pongo may make you think of the speckled pups from Disney classic 101 Dalmations, but someone colored all of our Pongo’s spots in! Well, most of them- he has a nice white tuxedo that he proudly shows off. Pongo may have lost his spots, but he still has the biggest head and the biggest heart to match! Here’s what his friends have said:“I love Pongo! He’s a BIG boy and a BIG sweetheart too! Pongo showed me his perfect sit and down and accepted treats very nicely from my hand when we got to the park. He is very eager to please and he has the cutest puppy eyes too! Very good boy!!”“Today Pongo was a nice walking buddy. He walked with a loose leash and checked in occasionally, wiggling his body as he made eye contact. We had a very nice walk together. Return to kennel was easy. I love this big guy!”“Pongo is a big sweetie. He’s always excited to get out of his kennel and due to the hot weather lately, I have only been able to take him to a yard. He enjoys the yard though, and really wants affection while we are in there. He’s a very attentive dog and seems to really want human interaction. He’s easy to get back to his kennel, unleash, and takes his treat nicely. Pongo is a very nice dog to spend time with.”“Pongo continues to be a cuddly guy, a bit of a velcro dog. I spent more time with him yesterday, and he seems like he bonds quickly. He is a huge favorite, with his big round eyes and joyful demeanor. Pongo is such a great dog. He is so loving and sweet.”“Pongo is a fantastic and intelligent dog. Today was my first time walking him. He was eager to get out but very comfortable with handling. He is strong, but he just seemed eager to stretch his legs and get a bathroom break. Pongo knows `sit` and `lay down`. A great dog who loves attention and a routine.”Pongo initially came to the shelter after being found abandoned and chained in a backyard. He spent about three weeks in another home, but the landlord sent him packing and he was back to the shelter once again. In that home he did well with other dogs and young kiddos. His caretakers said that he loves all people, loves to play in the water, is mellow, sweet, housebroken and crate trained. He loves to chase a tennis ball and lounge in the warm sun.
