Pongo 8 months old 45 lbs Male (neutered) Catahoula / Aussie Mix ‍He’s here ,look no further. Introducing to you all the way from Alabama ,PONGO! Sure to be your best friend and most loyal companion. Pongo is a beautiful, brave and smart puppy. He came to his foster mom on his first day, scared and unsure of his first time living in a home. Coming up to Buffalo and making the journey here was a big and scary change for him. However he proved himself to be fearless and resilient!! His foster mom is stunned, shocked and amazed at the turn around this guy has had! Pongo is the biggest love bug! It was clear even through his apprehension that all he wants is to be loved and to love someone back. Pongo, is a good boy but he is also very shy. After being left on the side of the road abandoned, him and the rest of his litter were taken to a shelter in Alabama. Unfortunately, he was the last of 2 to be adopted and has grown up in the shelter until recently coming up to Buffalo. He will need someone willing to give him the time and patience to adjust to his new surroundings and family. An experienced/ patient dog owner would be best for him. Once he warms up you, you won’t have to worry he’ll be your best buddy. Currently Pongo lives with 2 other dogs and a 6 month old baby! Although he is not given the chance to get too close to the baby he has always been calm and well behaved around his tiny friend. His foster mom anticipates no issues but due to his nervousness and love of hugs/jumping he should be closely monitored around small children just like any other dog! Some things to know about Pongo:He does great in his crate and sleeps through night. At first he may be chatty, but he will settle quickly! If kept on a schedule and monitored he is doing great with potty training. (His first time living in a home was not until he came up to Buffalo 5/19. So he was not potty trained prior to this. However he’s making great progress every day & should have no problem getting fully trained quickly!) Pongo would love to be in a home with another dog to show him the ropes. However he would also do great being an only dog in the home and getting all the attention to himself! Pongo does not have a lot of leash walking experience. However he is doing amazing on his walks so far. He does not pull much, walks next to you very nicely on a loose leash with few distractions! He may be unsure of some new noises but he is working on and growing his confidence everyday! Pongo loves to snuggle. Although he’s not a lap dog size he loves to lay in your lap and give you kisses and hugs. He wants to be close to his people and enjoys all the attention once he gets to know you!! Pongo will steal your heart once you meet him. This sweet, beautiful boy needs a chance to get to be a puppy finally.
