My personality: Independent but friendly and affectionate in time. My story: For the first five years of my life, I lived on the streets. Sadly, over time, I became more and more unwelcome there. The local residents didn't like me and the other street dogs barking, and they made plans to have us rounded up and put in a government pound. Fortunately, Soi Dog intervened before that happened. And I'm so glad they did. Not only was I unsafe, I was also very unwell – skinny and lethargic with patchy fur that was covered in ticks and fleas. That was many years ago; I'm long recovered now and am very much ready for the next chapter. My needs: Though I've been at the shelter for a number of years, I still find it overwhelming here. I like playing with my doggie friends, but I find that I often prefer my own space. A home environment would therefore be perfect for me. The vets say I’m showing the early stages of chronic kidney disease, though everything is stable for now and it doesn't affect me day to day. I'll just need some routine checkups with a vet when I get to my new home – a small price to pay for all the love I have to give! DISCLAIMER: I am located at Soi Dog in Phuket, Thailand. Soi Dog charges no adoption fee for me and I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters simply need to cover the cost of my travel crate, flight(s), and Rabies Titer Test (RTT).
