Adopt REYA (AKA-SANDY) a Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - with White American Pit

Location:
Tucson, AZ
Description:

Sandy is a silly young sweetheart who originally came to PACC as stray. She has an infectiously happy personality and wants to play, play, play! Sandy spent a few weeks in a foster home where she did great with kiddos as young as four years old, was housebroken, and was even indifferent to the resident cat! She did well crated when left alone and was well- behaved when unsupervised in the house for short periods. Her foster said that she loves to play with balls and treat puzzles and likes to chase lizards. When asked what words best describe Sandy, her foster said she is smart and devoted.Heres’ what some of Sandy’s volunteer friends have said about her:“Today I took Sandy out for her morning walk. Sandy is very treat-motivated and will eagerly sit and offer a paw in return for some snacks. She has a very serious face with the most adorable floppy ears. She has very good leash manners- Sandy was walking so nicely by my side that a member of the public called to me from a distance to ask about her. Sandy did a perfect sit and paw to show off, which got even more compliments. She was very well-behaved and responsive to verbal cues on our walk, and we had a very easy return to the kennel. She sits nicely for her goodbye treats and seems to know her routine well. Sandy is a very good dog.”“It was my first time walking Sandy, and it was very easy to leash her. We spent time in the play yard- she knows sit and paw! She is very sweet and mellow and has great ears. A very sweet dog!”“Sandy clearly has a good routine of receiving treats for a good `sit` and `paw”, so today I tried `touch` with her. We practiced `sit` in different areas on our walk, and then I began putting my open hand down at my side. Sandy would touch her muzzle to my hand to look for treats, and I would say `touch` when her muzzle made contact and give her a treat with my other hand. We did this regularly throughout the walk, and by the end, we had it! I hope to continue practicing this with her to add another cue to her routine.”“I took Sandy out to meet another dog today and she did really great. She was very eager to play- a very goofy, happy bouncy girl! Loved playing with a soft squeaker toy in yard.”Sandy will do great in an active home with a family who include her in all of their adventures and work with her on some training. She has shared her kennel with another PACC pup at times and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading h
