Adopt Rocky a Brown/Chocolate Labrador Retriever / Mixed dog in San Antonio

Just like his namesake, this guy is a fighter! He kicked distemper's bum, though it left a few lasting bruises on him. Due to some permanent neurological damage, Rocky bobs his head constantly and has a jaw spasm that prevents him from opening his mouth very wide. But he doesn't let these things dull his outlook on life. He's a little oinker and really digs treats, as long as they're bite-sized. He adores toys, but has to stick to smaller ones (cat toys and flat crinkly toys work well) due to his jaw issues. He's friendly and playful and loves, loves, loves people!! He's done pretty well with other dogs, but is still learning that cats are not giant squirrels for him to chase. While he initially comes off as a bit of an oddball, you'll quickly learns to embrace his little quirks as part of his goofy charm. He's learning not to jump on people when excited and not to steal things from countertops, but already knows sit and shake, and will fuss to let you know when he needs a potty break. He would do great in a home with young kids due to his friendliness, playfulness, and inability to bite. He'd love to have a yard for zoomies, but would also be happy with daily walks or a trip to the dog park to burn off some energy and make new friends.
