We can also schedule time to meet a specific dog at the Adoption Center during the week by appointment - just fill out the application and we will follow up with you! Though Rowan may be considered a senior dog (estimated 7-8 years old), he is young at heart! He LOVES playing fetch, napping in funny positions, and watching people cook from a distance like they're his Food Network. But most of all, he loves snacks and adores a food-motivated training session to both flex his skills and spend some quality time with you. As a rather shy and cautious fellow, it takes Rowan a little while to warm up to strangers. But once you're in, you're in-and he's so excited to have you in the gang. He's a medium-sized mixed-breed dog and is housetrained, crate trained, and does great being home alone (napping) during the work day in his current home environment. While Rowan is probably best suited as the only pet in an adult-only home or one with older children (one of his strongest bonds is with his foster's 10 y/o nephew), he might be okay with another well-mannered, submissive dog who matches his energy and to whom he is introduced carefully. He'd love to live in a home with direct access to the outside, since elevators and long hallways in an apartment complex filled with strangers and dogs might spook him. As a plus, he's great on leashed walks around quieter neighborhoods and trails and will politely sit to the side to let others pass by like the good boy that he is. As for his human, Rowan's ideal match would be an experienced dog owner (preferably female-identifying) who can offer patience and predictability, especially in the beginning, to help manage his anxiety. A daily routine helps him thrive and be a confident guy! And though he is most comfortable around women, he has been able to warm up to men in the past. Rowan is ready to meet his forever family! He can't wait to share all his love and kooky facial expressions with you, and to occasionally drop a toy at your feet while you fold laundry or watch TV. The adoption fee for this dog is $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts!
