Meet Rubin! This sweet fellow is looking for a special someone who can help him shine! Rubin is a good-natured and polite to a fault (minus some jumping when he is overly excited**), but can be a touch reserved with people he doesn`t know very well. He needs someone willing to invest enough time for Rubin to fully open up and blossom into the absolute best version of himself. As he is right now, Rubin is already pretty awesome, though. He is friendly, and once he gets to know you he likes to be pet and will snuggle against you for some cuddles. However, he doesn`t demand attention, and is perfectly content doing his own thing. Rubin is extremely curious about the world around him -- he wants to chase squirrels, dig holes, eat dirt and grass, hunt insects, and explore! He also loves a good nylabone to chew on.Rubin is well mannered. He appears to be housebroken, is crate trained, rarely barks, and takes treats very gently. He can be stubborn at times, but generally he is happy to do whatever you ask of him. Rubin also appears to be dog friendly. If you are looking for an easy going sweetheart, and have the time and patience to build a truly rock-solid bond, make sure you check out Rubin!Estimated Age: 4 years oldWeight: ~50 pounds**Rubin came into the shelter with multiple fractures on his back legs and pelvic region, and has been on strict crate rest for the past few months while these heal. His foster mom is pretty sure there is an energetic, playful dog under Rubin`s calm exterior, just waiting for his legs to be healed enough to be unleashed. Thus, it should not be surprising that this energy sometimes comes out as jumping during his (always-leashed) potty breaks. With better outlets for his energy, and perhaps some training, this should be easily resolved.
