Ruby (b. 9/2021) is an Akita mix. She loves hearing her name and engaging in play time or cuddle time. Ruby enjoys being the center of attention and would like nothing more than to be a part of an active family. She would like a home with a six foot tall fenced in yard where she can run and play to her hearts content. Ruby only cuddles for short periods of time until she's ready to get up and go again. Ruby loves kids! Ruby would be a great companion to take to your kids sporting events. She would be excited to be included in these type of outings and everyone she meets loves her. Ruby will never turn down a daily walk around the neighborhood or a car ride. She does such a good job with her leash training and she is friendly with strangers. She doesn't have accidents and is currently housebroken. Ruby also doesn't use a crate or kennel. She may need training to get familiar with the crate. Ruby is a happy puppy and she loves attention! She has a habit of counter surfing and she can get a little mischievous when she gets bored. Ruby is still a puppy and she needs consistency and routine to learn as she grows. She has been thru, "All Dogs Unleashed," school and knows basic commands. She eats a cup of food twice a day and she will sit and wait until you say 'ok, you can eat' then she gobbles it up. Ruby would like to dine alone during meal times. She knows 'let’s go night night,' when it's time to go to bed. Ruby plays fetch but when she brings it back she acts silly and tries to sneak away. She does eventually give the ball back without any protest because she wants the game to continue. Ruby is a very spirited girl that would enjoy an active and loving family. Ruby loves to run around so she would do best in a home with a fenced in yard.The suggested adoption donation for Ruby is $325. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
