Ruby von Rodgau is a gorgeous, 1-2 year-old, long-haired German Shepherd. Miss Ruby is a gem! She is a friendly and happy girl who is affectionate and kind. In the play yard, she is a good “greeter” and says hello to everyone. She is one to move from dog to dog, person to person, and then happy to explore the yard on her own. Likely housebroken, Ruby is treat-motivated and will show off “Sit/Stay/Down” in exchange for a treat from your hand, which she takes gently. Ruby is a fluffy-coated girl who, if adorned with a tiara, would look like a princess. (She didn't have the best care, but now her coat is filling in nicely.) She is a “yes “for so many things like belly rubs, treats and walks, but she is a “no” for cats. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
