Hello! I`m Russel. I was picked up by an Animal Control officer whilst enjoying the nice coolness of the lawn in front of KFC in Gilroy. It`s a great place to wait for a family to find you because you never know when you might get a treat. I hoped that by staying in one place, my person would find me, but the Animal Control officer brought me here instead. He told me that dogs aren`t allowed to hand out on the KFC lawn by themselves :( Am I expected to know all of the laws? I`ve seen some rough times in my past (you can see scars on my face from a previous attack froom another dog). I learned that being very still in scary situations can keep me safe. My first couple of days at the shelter, I did such a good job of laying still that I heard someone remark that they thought I was sedated. The next day, one of the humans here put me on a leash and I forgot I was trying to be still and walked with her out of the kennel I was being kept in when I remembered once again that I should be still, so I laid flat on the ground. She tried to call me and coax me, but I`m very good at being still when I need to, so I didn`t give in. She picked me up and carried me to where she wanted me to go. I think she may be easy to train if I remain steadfast. I keep waiting for someone to be unkind to me but so far everyone is so nice, so I`ve given in and have been showing them that I am nice too. Maybe I`ll be out soon on good behavior.Interested in meeting me?
