Meet Sam. Sam was rescued from a shelter where he was going to be euthanized because he was heartworm positive. He has since undergone treatment and is ready for his new home. Sam is dog friendly and he is okay with cats. May want to chase a cat in the beginning but if told no, he stops in his tracks. Children should be older and respectful. Sam does not like being left alone so someone who is home a lot would be best for him. I have found that the crate is what causes his anxiety. He does much better left out when you leave. He does not chew or destroy things. Sam would benefit from another settled dog to live with. He is pretty much house trained as long as you let him out consistently. Sam is a little cuddler and loves burrowing under a blanket when he sleeps. This guy listens great, I am super impressed with that and he does know some commands. He definitely is not a runner. He walks perfect on a leash and rides great in the car. Sam is about 6-7 years old and a great size at just under 20 lbs. He appears to be a terrier mix possibly with some chihuahua.
