Sammie joined Rescue Row in July of this year after wandering up to someone’s property. She spent 3 months with a medical foster recovering from FHO surgery (the ball of her femur was knocked out of place, likely due to being hit by a car). Now that she has healed, she is ready for adoption! From Sammie’s foster mom: “Sammie came to us as a quiet, reserved pup. She has become a playful girl that loves to go on long walks, play with toys and play with other dogs. She needs another dog in her forever home. She is potty trained and crate trained and is learning her leash manners quickly.” Sammie is 1 1/2 years old and oh so sweet. According to Wisdom Panel, Sammie is a mix of 13 different breeds! Her top 5 breeds are Great Pyrenees, American Pit Bull, Lab, Chow Chow and German Shepherd! Due to her breed make-up, no apartments please! We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority.
