Adopt Sansa a Brown/Chocolate German Shepherd Dog / Mixed dog in San Antonio

Sansa is a shy, intelligent, beautiful 2+ yr. old female. She will be a delight for someone who doesn't particularly like affectionate dogs, but appreciates a beautiful, intelligent problem-solving dog. She is definitely an all day long outside dog. She will explore, lift her ears when she hears birds in the trees, bark on rare occasions, and loves to bask in the sunshine. She has not made any attempts to escape, but eager to go outside as soon as she awakens. She uses the training dog pads with accuracy or will whine to alert that she NEEDS to go outside, usually by 9:00 a.m. She now responds to: "inside", "outside", "stop", "no" and "up". She allows me to dust/clean her body and her paws after she has been outside. She stands still while I place a harness & leash on her, and sweaters. Sansa also responds to "up" to jump into the car. She travels extremely well and remains calm. While in the fenced backyard or taking a walk outside, Sansa will calmly follow or lead while on a leash, or, at dusk she follows, without a leash, from the backyard into my home. When being fed, she will often wait for hours before eating, and she will often come and take her, or Daisy's food bowl & carries it to where she is more comfortable. She does take treats without hesitation from my hand, sometimes cautiously. My suggestion, after living with her for over 2 months, is to have patience in allowing Sansa to become comfortable in her new environment by having a quiet, calm, secure area for her (she may find it herself) while she adjusts and gains trust in family members.
