LOCATION: Schertz, TexasDOB: 10/30/2018 (estimate)Hi, my name is Scooby and I’m what my foster parent calls a super dog. (Of course, she also calls me Scooby-Doofus.) I am full of energy and I love to play but I also have a sweet, gentle side that is a must see and experience. My current momma says she has never seen a dog take treats as gently as I do. At night, I don’t try to climb in bed with anyone, but I do like to sleep close to my people’s bed (even the little kids’) so they know I am there, and they can feel how much I love them. (I won’t object to any blankets being thrown in my direction either.) On the couch, I like to lay at my human’s feet or lay next to them and have my paw held. It’s how I show my affection. I am house trained, crate trained, and know basic commands like sit, down, and high 5. I even come when I am called. I’m very good on a leash. Continuing training classes with me would be a good idea for two reasons: I like to be busy and it’s a good way for me to use my brain. I’m what they call “a high energy dog”. Having an active household where I would get lots of playtime and exercise would be a dream come true. Also, my ideal home would be on a quiet street or a low-traffic kind of neighborhood with not many homes around so that I can feel chill and relaxed. When I live near a park or a busy street where people are walking their dogs, I hear my heart going bump bump bump really fast and it’s unsettling. I get along with dogs of all breeds and ages but I like to play hard and part of that play is jumping onto other dog’s backs. I’m being silly but I understand that kind of rough housing isn’t for everyone. And I have a very high prey drive so NO small pets. Birds and squirrels are my nemesis outside and I will chase each and every one of them and I don’t care what is in my way.I don’t need another dog to play with though. In fact one of my favorite things is to take my squeaky toys or stuffies out in the back yard and throw them with wild abandon. I’ll catch them on my own too, especially my two foot long snake toy. It’s my favorite. I do play hard and do not want to unintentionally knock any little ones over, so probably children over 12 would be a good plan. I do have to admit that when I am in the back yard I need a VERY secure and VERY sturdy fence that is VERY good at providing privacy. And no gaps at the bottom. When it comes to eating, I can be slow and kind of picky. My new owner would need to be patient and understanding that it takes me time to eat and sometimes what I liked today, doesn’t mean I will always like it tomorrow. So to sum up-I play hard and I run hard and I have lots of fun personality. I have a soft spot for my people and a tenderness to my soul. I will take as much love as you have to give and I will give it back to you tenfold.
