We adopted sweet Scooter from our local shelter close to two years ago. Our much older dog had a lot of trouble accepting him from the start but we kept working through it and although we know in our hearts that they just don’t get along well (scooter is not the aggressor in their issues) we have kept trying because we adore him and our kids are very attached. He is wonderful with them. I am considering a different home for him even though it breaks our hearts because we are this far in and they still have issues together. It doesn’t seem fair to either one of them to continue having to put up with the stress. They both do great with other dogs in general but for whatever reason they just can’t seem to figure out their relationship with each other… Scooter does have some anxiety on the leash but I think that would really improve if he had someone who could give him more focus on walks. He is a wiggly, wonderful andhappy dog with SO much love to give.
