Shakira was found as a stray here in Burbank. She is a bit overwhelmed in the kennel so she doesn`t always approach people when they come up to her so she may be overlooked--don`t let this deter you, once she is familiar with you and in a quiet environment she comes out of her shell. We think she will come around even more once she is comfortable and established in her furever home.As Shakira was found stray we think it is safe to assume that she will need potty, obedience and leash training. Based on her mix of breeds (shepherd and husky), we don`t think cats or small animals would be a good idea as these dogs tend to have a high prey drive. We think Shakira would do fine with kids as long as they are quiet, respectful, know to give her space and not move too quickly. As far as dogs, we have tested Shakira in Dogs Playing for Life and think she would do best as the only dog in the household. She has had several experiences but is not super social around other dogs as well as being selective. Shakira may be able to do supervised doggy playdates (at the discretion of her adopter).
