Meet the young and playful Smokey!! This 10 month old Retriever/Lab mix has been with us since July 2023, and is looking for his forever home. He is a very playful soul who loves to explore the outdoors, and would make a wonderful family dog to take on outdoor adventures. He has lots of puppy energy and is very curious about the world. He would do best in a home with a yard, and a family that can give him lots of play time. He is very social and friendly towards other dogs, but if you have another dog at home we recommend that you bring them for a meet and greet to ensure that they get along before taking him home. We do offer a 'slumber party' program which allows you to take a dog home for a week before adopting to see if they are a good fit for your family. There is no cost or commitment for this - we provide the supplies, you provide the love! Smokey is up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, Heartworm negative, and will be neutered upon adoption or slumber party. His adoption fee is $110. Come adopt from the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM), a progressive animal welfare organization located in Gulfport, MS. Each year HSSM houses approximately 10,000 homeless pets. Every day we are fighting a space capacity crisis as we try to care for the overwhelming amount of abandoned local pets. Please consider visiting our shelter to adopt your next best friend.
