Sunny must have confirmed placement with an RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER or ADOPTER by WEDNESDAY July 19th, at 4:00 P.M. Should Sunny's medical or behavioral status change, their urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Looking for a ray of sunshine in your life? Meet Sunny. This beautiful 4 year old girl found herself at ACCT with her brother "Big Dawg" after someone witnessed them being thrown out of the vehicle. Sunny is confused as to why she was left behind, but is doing her best to be brave at the shelter! Sunny is a very mellow and quiet girl who enjoys sniffing around and then cuddling up at your feet. She is content being on her own, but the moment you call her over she is really to smother you with attention and lots of kisses. Sunny has been well behaved and easy to handle while in our care. You don't need a day at the beach to get some Sun, take home Sunny today! Medically Miss Sunny came to us on 6/20 relatively in good health. Since being in our care, she was seen on 6/28 by staff. She was observed to have a cut on her vulva and be coughing in the kennel. After being examined, staff noted: "This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. They will need a veterinarian to examine them before they receive surgery, if they are not already altered. Additionally this dog has an inflamed vulva. After being seen, Sunny was started on proper medications. Overall this Sunny will do best in a home where she can obtain the one on one attention she needs and monitor her for any continuation of symptoms. Sunny has also had many positive dog interactions since being in our care so, if you are adding Miss Sunny to your pack we would recommend a slow introduction. If you feel as though this ray of happiness is in your life. Please come meet her at ACCT Philly. On 7/14 staff noted: "Took Sunny out with a staff member and she did phenomenal. She presented socially in the kennel with a loose body. She did jump up towards her neighboring dog, but was easy to redirect and lead out of the shelter. She walked well on leash and allowed all handling once outside. In the yard, she solicited attention, leaned in for petting, took treats gently, and even laid on her back allowing her belly to be rubbed. She seemed very interested in meeting other dogs. Walked nicely on the leash back to the kennel and once in her kennel, began barking towards her neighbor again.
