Age: 3 yearsSize: 45 lbsEstimated breed: Pit bull terrier/Staffordshire bull terrier mixUpdate from my foster 7/24: She is such a great dog She barely sheds, rarely barks, and loves to go for adventures! Over the weekend she checked out both ice cream places in town. I think she was getting pets from three people at once and was soaking it all in. She does great in the car and is always down for a good walk. I also let her out in the yard to do some zoomies before hopping in her crate for the night. Talia has a lot of patience with the cats, even when they get testy and hiss she doesn’t react back. As far as other dogs, she doesn’t bother other dogs on our walks, and when we’re sitting somewhere she just wants to make friends with other dogs so bad! She gets a little over excited and can learn some dog manners there, but overall, a fantastic girl!Talia was picked up as a stray in rural South Carolina all the way back in February. She was found with a male dog, and it was clear that Talia had very recently had a litter of puppies. She was still producing milk, so it was clear she was in the middle of nursing her babies. Her ears had been poorly chopped as well. Once they were taken to the shelter, their "owner" located them, but was only interested in reclaiming the male. Talia was left in the shelter, taken away from her babies too soon, confused and alone. Talia sat and waited in the shelter, moving from kennel to crate in the hallway due to overcrowding, just waiting for her chance to get out. The shelter began having to euthanize dogs due to being three times over capacity, and as a long-timer, Talia's time was up. Fortunately, a foster responded to our urgent plea, so we were able to break Talia out of the shelter and get her into the safety of a foster home to wait for her forever home! Talia is around 3 years old and weighs 45 lbs. We are guessing she is some kind of pit bull/staffordshire bull terrier mix, but we can never know for sure! She is a sweet girl who is eager to make friends with everyone she meets. She has tested well with other dogs at the shelter and did well with meeting cats as well - she received several hard swats to the face from a particularly sassy cat, and she simply bowed her head and walked away in shame! Talia is such a bright spirit who after everything she's gone through, deserves the absolute best forever home.
