Tootsie was surrendered due to her owner's health. She is still very nervous being at the shelter and in a new environment, but has slowly been getting used to the shelter. Tootsie would thrive in a quieter home that will give her time to settle in. Once she feels comfortable, she loves body scratches. Her previous owner stated that she does not do well with livestock or chickens and that she will chase them, but has not harmed them. She has lived outdoors most of her life, so we do not know if she is housetrained or potty trained. She is not dog reactive but did not get along with another dog while in foster, so it is highly recommended that Tootsie be an only pet. She was the same with the cats, so she would be better in a home without cats. Tootsie is VERY distrusting of men and boys. She walks very well on a leash. She does well in a crate, and does not potty while in her kennel. Tootsie is spayed. Tootsie was fostered for a while and her foster stated that she is just not happy as an indoor dog. Tootsie gets very anxious inside and would benefit from being an outdoor dog. Tootsie will pace the She has received her DHPP and Bordetella vaccination, is heartworm negative, and on prevention. The adopter will be responsible for getting her rabies updated.
