Tyrion is a heartbreaker. He came to us as a puppy. He was part of a group of dogs surrendered together. He and his littermate were struggling with socialization. They were underexposed to the outside world, they had only known crate-life. They were adopted out separately. Tyrion is back with us, he has not gotten what he needed. The outside world still terrifies him. We walked, he stopped. I coaxed, he complied, we got another 10ft. He stopped again. He stopped over and over. It is crushing to watch him struggle to deal with his fears. On the bright side, he is much better able to walk on leash. He is learning, he shows increased tolerance of all body contact and handling. The progress is visible, but slow. If you have time and a soft spot for a work-in-progress, Tyrion may be just what you are looking for.
