Isn't he a doll? Sweet sweet sweet, Rex is a handsome little lad who loves being around his people. He's potty trained, though he much prefers it if you go outside with him; maybe he gets a bit frightened outside... everything is new to him at the moment. Rex is happy to sleep in a crate as long as it's in the room with his person, though he'd likely be fine sleeping in the big bed, too! He's fine with other dogs, but cats? Probably not. We'll post more about Rex as we continue to learn more about him; he's a gorgeous boy ready for his forever home. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Rex will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expense is greater than our adoption fees; we are non-profit. **Rex is a Legacy Dog. Legacy Dogs are highly adaptable dogs that can assist other dogs in our rescue with their vetting bills. Legacy dogs have a much higher desirability quotient. They're young, healthy and usually purebreds. These dogs leave a financial legacy for those animals who need extra help - whether they need extensive medical care or just a little more time to find a loving home.(And they still cost less than going to a breeder!) DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
