Australian Cattle Dog-Border Collie Mix Dog for Adoption in Ogden, Utah, 84404 USNickname: RUE Posted Breed: Border Collie / Queensland Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Rue is easy going. She is gentle and loving. She can get excited, but after some direction will settle down. She is a typical dog for the most part...sleeps a lot, loves to eat, loves to go on walks, and loves to be close to her humans. She struggles around strangers until she gets to know them. She does not like unfamiliar dogs and will bark at them from a distance, and cower when she gets closer to them. When she knows the dog she tries to one-up the dog, or just barks at them when outside with them. I discovered this when my son brought his dog to live with us, and we had to keep them separated when they were alone. She has not had much interaction around cats, but I believe she is trainable. She is house trained, rides in a car comfortably and knows all the basic cues like sit and stay. She does not do well in a crate because s he spent the first year of her life stuck in one. I believe she can be trained, I just didn't see the need. Rue thinks she is always hungry. She will get into anything she thinks is food and try to eat it. Nothing I have tried worked to keep her out of the garbage except keeping her out of the kitchen, or any garbage cans out of her reach. Overall, she is trainable, even at this age, she just needs some good one on one time Lorrie 801-243-XXXX
