Animal Profile: Betty is an estimated 3- to 4-year-old lab pit mix (best guess) who joined us along with her puppies Bud, Hulk, Jack, and Bear on 8/18 from Texas. A good Samaritan in TX found momma with her pups and brought them to the shelter where he was told they'd be euthanized so he kept them in his home until he found rescue placement for them. Betty has been a good mom, not overly protective, and friendly with humans including children as well as other dogs. Foster Update: Check out Betty's profile photo, enjoying life on a sailboat in Puget Sound! Betty has been so appreciative to be in a loving home. She is social and friendly meeting new dogs on and off leash. She likes interactive games like fetch and tug but can also entertain herself or settle down and snuggle. She is friendly and a lovebug meeting new people and dogs, and is on the submissive side. She easily turns off during play and for relaxation, which is such a nice quality, and does really well in her crate. We are working on her confidence building as she can be startled by noises or movements at night, and electronics or vacuums are not her favorite. She is curious about cats but hasn't lived with them, and is gentle and tolerant with kids. Her personality is a delightful mix of high energy and endearing affection. Her ideal family would be one that can provide love and affection, daily walks, and socialization. She's definitely a dog who thrives in a multi-member household. Betty is loving and biddable -- eager to please.
