I am a beautiful 9-10 year old fawn lady that is an owner surrender due to one of my owners passing away and dogs not allowed where my other owner must move to. I am a member of the rescue’s Silver Heart Program so make sure to ask about it because there are many perks for my adoptive family! I am described as smart, protective, affectionate, nervous, and obedient. I do have a sensitive tummy and am not allowed to have table scraps. Due to a right rear hip issue, I do have some trouble walking and sitting but not in pain. I sit and walk very slowly so I need an owner with patience because I am not in a hurry to get anywhere. I am protective of my owner around strangers and other dogs and will growl. I am not a fan of children and for everyone’s safety, I should be in a home without children and only adults. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I am house trained and know “lay down in your bed”, “treat”, “outside”, “pee-pee”, “eat”, and “food”. I am not crate trained and would need assistance with that if it is required in my forever home. At night I sleep on my dog bed and when no one is home I am fine and usually sleep. I am very cautious around people I do not know. When outside I have good behavior and I do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, squeaky toy, soft chew treats, or tennis balls. I am very protective over bones that I can chew on. My current owner says I “snore like a pig” and sleep a lot. She says I love my rear end and inner thigh rubbed from behind and if I like you, I will back up to you.
