Meet Corina!Corina is a 2 year old, 45 pound, Retriever Mix that was saved from the euthanasia list in June 2022. At the time, Corina had a severe leg injury and had to undergo major surgery to fix her leg.Corina is very intelligent and enjoys having her mind put to work (solving puzzle games, learning new tricks, etc.). Corina already knows Sit, Down, Paw, High Five, Focus, Wait, Come, Take It, Leave It, and Drop It but she would love to learn more! Corina is dog friendly and has lived with dogs under 20 pounds during her time in foster care. However, she needs slow introductions. Corina would love to have a doggy playmate in the home but it is not required. Corina is a Velcro dog and protective of her humans. She will follow you around the house no matter where you go (yes, that includes when you shower. She wants to watch and make sure you are safe). Part of making sure you are safe is also protecting you from strangers. Corina will mean bark at any strangers that come into the home and will put herself in between you and them. This is one area where she needs a little more training to learn a release word of when people can be trusted or not. Corina has not been tested around kids. However, due to her high energy and strength it's probably best that she goes to a home with older kids or no kids.
