Email: ddrtxinfogmail Primary Website: .DDRTX Aggie Red was found wandering stray in a subdivision green space along a walking path. A Good Samaritan said he was looking for a friend and seemed to like her dog. In his foster home the family has been learning all they can about Aggie. His life had so many quick changes he has needed a little decompression time. Aggie want’s almost constant attention. He can be a little clingy but each day that is getting better. He seems to want to bond with someone quickly and that will be the primary care giver. He may tend to place all of his confidence in that person. He will however warm up to all members in the family and accept them fully. So a future family will be successful if they give him plenty of time to fit in. Aggie loves the other dogs in the foster home and is accepting of the dog savvy 10 year old in the foster home. However Aggie seems apprehensive of strangers or new people he meets until he is allowed to meet slowly. Then all goes well. The foster has observed Aggie showing fear if you are holding and or waving things around. He will cower. The foster suspects Aggie may have been hit in the past, maybe a lot. Aggie may also attempt to be mildly protective of the person he bonds with. And if cornered he will assume a defensive posture. These are pretty normal reactions and a prospective adopter will be successful with Aggie if willing to give him love and patience and learn from the advice of the foster. Aggie is a loving dog that wants to be involved with his people. He is learning to relax during quiet time. He can lay on the recliner leg rest with you. He has shown an interest in playing with toys. He sleeps all night quietly in the kennel and would love to join you in the big bed. He is a mannerly eater. He does potty outside. Aggie Red is incredibly handsome. Aggie is 2 years old weighing in at 19 lbs. He may have a wandering spirit so a SOLID fenced play area will be needed. Aggie needs time to settle into his new forever home to feel safe and secure. Aggie will walk pretty well on a leash, is smart, and seems to know some commands and understand the word “no”. He is observant and when you put your shoes on and get your keys, he’s already at the door ready to leave with you. Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog?
