You may be required to travel if approved for adoption. Leo is a special guy looking for a special home. He's a calm, semi-active boy who loves his naps a lot, really loves the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys playtime with them, but then it's time to chill. He's small, likely dachshund mix, likely about 3 years of age so past the puppy stage for sure. Leo had a tough start, unfortunately. He was not socialized properly and was left outside with a lot of other dogs which made him fearful of people. He's made great strides - he loves his foster dad (he likes men best of all), mom's ok, but he does not enjoy the energy level of children, so we are looking for an adult only home for him. His foster mom says he is somewhat similar in personality to a cat - would love a good companion to count on, and an easy-going life with limited excitement in the household. As for cats, he doesn't show any interest in them at all. His foster mom says he's just the easiest boy - limited if ever barking, walks great on a leash, and totally house trained. We believe he would do great in a single male home, dual male home, or with a couple, younger or older, but without children. We also believe he would do equally as well in the city or apartment or condo living as he would the country. As with any new pet, Leo would need time to decompress and acclimate to his new surroundings and people. In addition, he will need a bit of training working with his new owner/s, to assist in meeting the expectations or needs of his new household. This little guy needs a chance at a real home of his own, and a companion/s who are willing to give him a little time to trust. Might that be you?
