Dillon was rescued from rural Texas after he and his siblings were left in a field when the owner of their mother got tired of feeding so many pups. Dog rescuers were aware of the puppies as they were scrambling to find foster homes for the pups to go to. The owners decided not to wait and left the puppies in a field to fend for themselves when they were 12 weeks old. Within 24 hours, rescuers heard about the crisis and went to the wilderness area to find the puppies. It took three days and all but one of the puppies was found. Dillon was the first puppy found when he ran up to the rescuers looking for help. The brave, young puppy was brought to Nebraska for foster and training in readiness for adoption.Dillons mother is a Plott Hound mix and his father is a fawn Great Dane. Most of his siblings look like fawn Great Danes. Dillon took on more of the characteristics of the hound. He should grow to be around 55 pounds +-. Dillon was born around the second week of May making him almost 6 months old. He is a very mellow and agreeable puppy. He gets along well with other dogs and is very playful but does take the submissive role with other dogs. He is used to having other dogs around so a home with other dogs would be excellent for him. He has been in a home with a 4-pound Chihuahua as well as a 70-pound Belgian Malinois. He is very respectful and knows his place in the pack. He is house trained to a doggie door and goes out to potty on his own. He is very smart. He knows his house manners and is well behaved in the house. He sleeps in a crate at night but is happiest to be out in the yard and roaming the house during the day with the other dogs.Dillon is neutered and up to date on all his medical records and vaccinations.I have attached photos of Dillon as well as a picture of a Plott hound so adopters know what one is.Thank you!My phone number is 209-401-XXXX in case you need to reach me.##500780##
