Short stuff, little bit of tude, perfectly tidy, and a whole bunch of love sums up our Dixie pup. Dixie came into us as a stray with another female dog back in the beginning of January. We believe the party dropping them off knew their true story but chose not to share it with us. Her breed is very much a mystery to us but our best guess is that her 30lb self is most likely some sort of Dachshund mix due to her personality and of course the short legs. Even though she came in with another dog she tends to have very strong feelings against having any other dog friends although she would do great in a home with a cat. Dixie can be a bit shy with strangers but warms up super quickly with people. She hasn't met tiny kiddos but has shown she doesn't like her face or feet messed with so older kids would be best. Dixie is totally kennel/house trained and has just slept while visiting the office up front. She knows some basic commands like sit and off but does pull pretty hard on a leash for her size so she will need a strong walker. Staff loves Dixie just as much as she loves belly rubs and we hope to find her a home soon.
