Labrenees Dog for Adoption in McKinleyville, California, 95519 USNickname: PATCH Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). PATCHIs a real lovely young pup who would make a great family dog. His middle name is LOVE! Did we mention that he is a cuddler and has perfected the art of eliciting belly rubs? Patch is easy to walk on leash and happy to relax and lay at your feet while you work (he's a favorite to hang out with our front desk staff). He enjoys toys and chews and the ever-delicious peanut butter Kong. While Patch would enjoy a playmate, he will need to recover from his orthopedic surgery first. Patch came to us with an old injury to his right rear leg that will require surgery to remove the femoral head of the hip bone. Scar tissue will then form an artificial joint. This surgery is very successful and relieves the pain associated with the injury. Patch currently weighs in at 35lbs with growing to do. We are looking for a medical foster and or adopter who will take care of Patch during this healing period. He will need a quiet environment and physical therapy and the shelter is not able to provide this. All medical expenses are covered by the shelter's Emergency Medical Fund. Fosters do get the first opportunity to adopt if they so decide, but are not obligated. Fostering is very rewarding!
