My name is Elsa and I came here on 10/3 with my young buddy Luigi, who is 3 years old. Since I'm a senior, any major medical needs I might have as I age is being donated by The Helping Paw Project ---as long as you use one of the vets they work with. (Shots, nails, and routine vet visits are not included.) I'm a healthy girl, but for the future, that's a great deal! I would love for us two to go home together...but if that isn't possible, I think we can learn to adjust. Now...let me tell you more. We were picked up as strays and our owners could no longer care for us. But, they did a nice job training us. I am a sweet, little pittie. My head is about up to your knees. I walk well on a leash, take treats gently, and love people. I'm not fond of cats and I'm iffy with other dogs, especially when toys are present, so I'll be best as an only pet. My dream home will have a family who will cuddle me and let me snooze on a snuggly bed or blanket. I'd love a fenced yard, or folks who will take me on a leash to go potty. If you are looking for a pretty petite, affectionate girl who knows how to obey, I'm a good pick!***NOTE: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines; all required before adoptions are finalized. We appreciate you looking!Adoption processOur stray animals are held 10 days to see if the owner will claim them. If no one claims the animal, the animal is put up for adoption. We also accept owner surrendered animals (for a fee) if space allows. Also...Due to Illinois state law, no animals can be adopted without being fixed first.
