Matilda, or Mattie as we call her, is a young, beautiful, and smaller stature black lab with heart and playfulness! Mattie gets along well with her older foster siblings, one being a female terrier and an 80 pound female black lab. She loves playing tug-o-war with the terrier, and zooming around the backyard and chasing each other. She is curious about our two cats who have free roam of the house like Mattie. She tries to play with the cats but backs off when they swipe at her for getting too close. Mattie loves an adventure and going on walks. She would prefer to walk without the leash, but will understand if she has to wear one in busier areas. Mattie enjoys chew toys, especially antlers and pork chews! She also enjoys chasing tennis balls, but were still working on bring the ball back. Mattie loves a treat, and will take them in a kind, calm manner even when surrounded by other dogs. Mattie is a smart pup too! She has almost conquered potty training, and currently learning the commands sit and down. Mattie also does well in her kennel, occasionally choosing to take naps during the day, and sleeps in it overnight. However, she is allowed on the furniture in her foster home. She is also learning what she can and cannot chew on, and she is picking it up quickly!Mattie went into foster care because she needed to recover from a fracture in her right front leg. She wore a splint for a short amount time until the bones were fused together. She has a slight knot on her forearm where the fracture was, and has made a great recovery. Mattie has no problem running and romping around with the other dogs!Mattie is a wonderful, young dog looking for a chance to bring life and happiness to your life! She is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
