This is Mattie! A sweet Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix. Shes had a rough start to life and was surrendered to JCAPL after her owners deemed her not suitable to breed. She was turned in to us after having 5 puppies where only 1 survived. Shes about 2 years old and is completely house and crate trained. She has good retrieval instincts and wants to be loved. Shes just scared because of how she was treated previously. She took about a week to warm up to me and now she loves to kiss my hand and receive belly rubs. She is still frightened of men but will allow my husband to give her treats. She loves to take long naps and curl up with her stuffed fox. She needs a loving and patient home where people understand her and show compassion. Shes not shown any aggression but is not interested in playing with other dogs and Im not sure how she is with cats as we do not have any. With time, patience, and love, Mattie will be the perfect companion!Are you interested in adopting Mattie or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
