I've been through a lot in the past year after losing my owner causing my outer shell to harden. At first glance I can come off as a feisty little tough guy but if you are patient with me and my boundaries you will start to see the big softie I actually am. I absolutely love being warm, and am constantly crawling under the blanket of my foster mom. Or if she doesn't have a blanket I will crawl into her sweater or lay on my heated bed. I absolutely love running and wrestling with other dogs my size. I'm good with bigger dogs too if they respect my space. Luckily all I need to be happy is a short walk or play session in the morning and I'll happily nap all day. I LOVE food, I will do anything for a treat and often do laps around the house making sure my foster mom hasn't left any crumbs for me. I do best in a calmer, quieter environment and can be barky at unknown noises. I know I am still a work in progress, but if you invest in me I know I will be worth it. Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Rusty's adoption fee is $200.
