LOOKING FOR ADOPTIVE HOME ASAP IN THE NE/CO/WY/SD MEGAN Located in Dalton, NE Chocolate Lab (possible mix) 5 ish years old Dog friendly Cat friendly Kid friendly Potty trained Has some stranger danger at first Tall secure fence would be best Fully vetted (vaccinated, wormed, microchipped & spayed) 43 pounds Megan is a dog who was dumped in the country and behaved very typical of a dumped dog, in that she didn’t venture far from the spot, and she refused and ran from all help. As she sat waiting; freezing & starving; for her “owner” to come back (because he just has to right?) we tried to help. When she constantly ran, we bought a trap. She wouldn’t trap and continued to refuse all efforts. Because she’s loyal like that; the disloyalty of her owner isn’t something she understands. After a week or so, she finally gave in, likely her body just couldn’t run and fight and hold out any longer; and she climbed into the car of one of the many who continued to check on her, when he offered her his lunch. Megan is now safe and has been completely vetted and is ready to be adopted. Megan is extremely sweet, but does have a little stranger danger at first. She will bark, but comes around very quickly. The vet believes she is approx 5 years old, but you wouldn’t know it as she is very playful and energetic. A secure, taller fence would be ideal for Megan. We don’t ever want her to feel anything but safe and secure again. Megan is a small chocolate lab (possible mix) at just 43 pounds. Megan seems fine with dogs and cats. She did well with the children she has met. She LOVES her food and treats. She likes to play fetch and has picked a favorite toy she will get to keep. She is not destructive and appears to be potty trained. I am happy to answer any questions and bring her around to meet you if you have a serious interest in her. This means there is no place for you to go in person to view our dogs. We ask that an application be filled out and we will go from there! We do ALLOW out of state adoptions, HOWEVER the adopter MUST pick the dog up in person and DRIVE or FLY (IN CABIN ONLY) the dog back at the adopters expense.
