Apex was confiscated in October 2022 when a "rescuer” was discovered hoarding many dogs in poor condition. Because dogs are considered property, Apex was held as evidence at Baldwin Park Shelter for 13 months! When Apex finally became available, we scooped him up on December 16th. He is 9 years old and weighs 25 lbs. Apex is very sweet and ready for a fresh start with a loving family who will be patient with him as he adjusts to living in a home again. Apex went on a Frosted Fling and was described by his Fling Family as "one of the most gentle animals we have ever had the pleasure of meeting." Apex was very good with their cat and have been wonderful companions to us. On walks, he stayed by one of their sides and did the same when sleeping. They report Apex is a great balance of energetic and playful, or quiet and sleepy, making him the perfect walking companion and naptime cuddle buddy. Given his gentle nature, they felt he would do well in a home with children, other dogs, and cats. Apex currently lives in a foster home, but he is still on the lookout for his forever family!
