I am a purebred blue tick hound. I've been through a lot and I am still going through it. I was adopted (not from QoL) in May but it was NOT a good match. Things aren't working and it's not my family's fault. I'm just a lot of dog. Im anxious and I can be strong and destructive when I want to hide. Things were not going smooth but we were doing OK.... until the fireworks. Oh these terrifying explosions were happening all around. I was (and still am) scared to death. I cant handle it. There is ongoing construction just across the yard and the nail guns and hammers, equipment and hollering has all got me in an absolute tizzy. I need a quiet home. I need a lot of space to run and NO SCARY NOISES, PLEASE! I heard the people talking about me maybe being a "failed gun dog" because I am a coon hound. Its not the norm for my breed to be so afraid of noises. But I am. They think I maybe was traumatized by gun training because some hunting dogs arent cut out for hunting. I can't remember anything that explains my fear and anxiety. All I know is that I need a safe home. And the wonderful couple that adopted me are in their 70's (with mom staying with us who is in her 90's). They can't handle me when I try to run. I have broken the lattice twice, and hidden under the porch for hours. That is why I came to QoL to be fostered. I am in Ocala. The shelter that adopted me out is unable to take me back. So here I am, hoping that the right family is reading this and they can help me. I need an understanding and patient, appropriate and experienced home. Be it foster or adoptive, its my only hope. I am safe with Quality of Life Rehab but still in need of foster or adoptive home!
