Meet Palmer, a delightful 2-year-old shelter dog whose joy is infectious. As you approach him, his tail wags with excitement, and his eyes light up with happiness. Palmer greets you with gentle enthusiasm, refraining from jumping and instead expressing his affection in a calm manner. On a leash, he walks with grace, enjoying the outdoor surroundings as he explores and sniffs with curiosity. Palmer's mellow and calm temperament shines through, making him an ideal companion. He has mastered the art of sitting and delights in catching treats, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. Recently tested with other dogs, Palmer would likely do better with a female. His go-to move was humping, so an older dog may not be tolerant of his playstyle. Palmer is not just a dog; he's a loving and well-behaved friend ready to bring joy and companionship into your life. Palmer is heartworm positive but please don't let heartworms deter you from taking him home, they are completely treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center is generously providing a $400 sponsorship toward treatment. He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats or dogs in the home, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
