Petter is a wonderful dog who has waited patiently for his forever Home!!! Petter is a male Labrador mix, approximately 6 years old, 25-30 lbs. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. Petter was LITERALLY saved by FHSTJ. He was destined to be put down by the TJ pound because he has a small disability with his right back leg. Although he limps on that leg; he is in NO pain and manages getting around rather well. Petter’s resilience and spirit shine through, showing just how strong and determined he is to live his life despite his disability. Labrador mixes often have a friendly and outgoing nature, making them great companions for both dogs and cats, as well as people of all ages. Petter deserves the opportunity to have a forever home with someone who is loving and patient. We are confident there is the “right family” out there who can provide the support and love he needs in spite of his disability to thrive in his forever home!!!Adoption processWe take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.Shelter locationWe have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.
