Piglet, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In Amesbury, Massachusetts

Location:
Amesbury, MA
Description:

Piglet! Loves to eat (of course) but thinks New England weather is pretty rude. This southern girl is settling in to her Assonet MA foster home with two resident dogs, 2 teens, and a guinea pig too! She is available to a home anywhere in New England and into NY with a resident dog. She is not cat tested. And she can live with respectful children. Piggy is 12 weeks old + 18 pounds and her foster fam says––“Piglet warmed up quickly to all the humans in the house. She was a little nervous with our pups at first, but is now playing with our pups a bunch more! She had a quiet day, chewing on her benebone and relaxing. She loves her food and hates the cold! Today she spent some time enjoying the sun when laying on the porch. Her fav spot is chilling on the couch with a blanket and a pillow. She’s such a beautiful puppy. From the south before travel––They thrived in their LA foster home in a multi-dog household. They were sadly dumped by an unkind human and we’ve promised them better. They spend their days together on a schedule of Play. Eat. Rest. And repeat! They are best in a home with another dog as they continue to learn how to dog in the north. They have not yet spent time around kids or cats. They will thrive in adoptive homes that provide the enrichment and training that all puppies need to be great canine citizens. “They are typical playful puppies, except they are not mouthy and don’t jump on people. A little shy at first, but they warm up. They love playing with the big dogs, playing with toys, and being outside. We just started training to potty outside so that will need continued support." "Pooh Bear absolutely enjoys chilling on the sofa, makes him think he’s a big dog. They’re both treat motivated. If you have chicken they’ll be your best friend, Pooh Bear will take it gently but Piglet gets too excited so fingers can get involved LOL. They both enjoy belly rubs, especially Pooh Bear. They play hard, nap regularly, and sleep through the night. These two are diamonds in the “ruff”! In the week they’ve been here, they’ve learned to trust, love and just be carefree puppies. I’m absolutely amazed and so grateful we were able to save them! They deserve a good life!” Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival to MA. Pups not pre-adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours. Read through our adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs and our adoption process is here www.rescueinc.dog/the-process All of our pups come with the following: spayed or neutered age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) health certificates dosed with flea and tick + heartworm preventatives new martingale collar (sometimes a harness) with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30-days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian microchip with free registration sample of Canidae food that your pup is eating prior to pick up WE ISOLATE OUR OWN PUPS in our state licensed facility, which means we have eyes on your puppy or dog for the MA mandated 48 hours. During this timeframe, your pups not only see our isolation vet twice but also receive additional rounds of dewormer along with pre + probiotics; transition to Canidae food; additional behavior assessments as they decompress; and so much love and thoughtfulness from our volunteers. Your pups are bathed at intake and again before pick up. All are paired in kennels with littermates or for those that travel alone, we have a rotation of volunteers to visit with them. We provide enrichment throughout the day and meditation music during nap time and through the overnight. We use these 48 hours to ready your pup to transition into a foster or adoptive home and do all that we can to reduce their stress while they are with us. Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.
